Poldrate quilters show

I really enjoyed the show in Haddington last weekend.  Poldrate quilters are a very active group and the group of chums I went with really liked the exhibition.  It was very well displayed and the venue was excellent for a quilt show.  I really liked a cazy quilt that had been done as a workshop with Sarah McIntosh and some of the quilters from Poldrate kindly shared how they had done it.  This quilt on the left is one of several done by members of Poldrate in this design and was made from recycled cotton shirts.  It is really clean and fresh looking.

So next morning, after the show and very bright and early, I decided to have a go - maybe just make a block or two for fun to see how it made it.  Several hours later I had up-ended my newly tidied stash, chosen over 20 fat quarters in blue fabrics, along with some smaller scraps and cut out enough squares to make 100 block.  I know I said in a recent post that I would absolutely not start any new quilts till I had finished the ones I am on but it was too tempting.   You can see here some of the work in progress.  I have about half of the blocks completed and I think with a bit of an effort the top could be finished in one more day. 

Hopefully with my holidays starting now I will get a few more quilts finished to make room for more inspiration.
